The crossmember is installed so that the clearance camel exhausts are closed at the top and open at the bottom. To use the provided 7/16 hardware is required to extend the holes in the frame rails. If the installer chooses to use the 3/8 size, it is highly recommended that the stock hardware installer obtain grade 8 fasteners and washers to compensate.
